Civic Participation and Leadership: Through partnership around the goals of the City of Long Beach Youth Strategic Plan, we offer youth the opportunity to engage directly in civic leadership and community decision-making processes.
Stability for Success: Recognizing the importance of a stable environment for educational and personal development, our initiatives support efforts to prevent youth homelessness, ensuring all young people have a foundation for active engagement and success.
Comprehensive Support: Through partnerships and advocacy, we work to address and prevent the factors leading to youth homelessness, integrating this focus into our broader efforts to support the well-being of Long Beach's youth.
Youth Day in the LBC
The Mayor’s Fund is proud to partner with the City of Long Beach and Mayor’s Office to host the annual Youth Day in the LBC.
Launched in 2023, Youth Day in the LBC is a citywide celebration and call to action focused on empowering Long Beach’s young people. The event brings hundreds of youth together for a full day of civic engagement, career exploration, and cultural connection, with special guests like Vince Staples, Giveon helping inspire and connect with the next generation.
Youth Day is part of a broader ecosystem of youth-focused investments, including the Long Beach Public Service Corps, Youth Participatory Budgeting, and expanded workforce pathways. Together, these initiatives are designed to give young residents a stronger voice in shaping their city while connecting them to education and career opportunities.
